Dredging of Brewery Creek

Drainage District 7 (Brewery Creek) held a public hearing on August 13 to address potential issues related to an April 2026 plan and specifications report by the Sigma Group to dredge Brewery Creek. Residents of the Village and Town of Cross Plains, and representatives of the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC) attended this meeting. Jay Lengfeld (President of the Village Trustees) expressed concerns about the impact of this project on Brewery Creek and the wetland restoration project the Village is working on jointly with CARPC. CARPC has submitted a letter of concern to the Dane County Drainage Board regarding this proposed project. Trout Unlimited and BECWA are also planning to submit public comments.
