About the event
The Dane County Drainage Board is holding its annual public meeting on Thursday, November 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the Town of Bristol Town Hall, 7747 County Road N, Sun Prairie. This meeting is relevant to the proposed dredging project on Brewery Creek (Drainage District 7). The District 7 annual report, finances, inspections, and maintenance are item 8 on the agenda, open for public discussion.
Background: Drainage District 7 held a public hearing on August 13 about an April 2026 plan and specifications report by the Sigma Group to dredge Brewery Creek. Concerns have been raised about the project’s impact on the creek and on the wetland restoration project the Village of Cross Plains is working on jointly with CARPC. CARPC has submitted a letter of concern to the Drainage Board, and Trout Unlimited and BECWA are planning to submit public comments.
