Village of Cross Plains Board Meeting - Hillside Ordinance
Last week, the planning committee recommended that the board consider changes to the Hillside/Hilltop Protection Ordinance. At this upcoming meeting on June 8, the board will hold a public hearing and review and act on the proposed changes from the planning commission to the ordinance.

About the event
On June 1st, the Village of Cross Plains Plan Commission proposed amending the Hillside Protection "Overlay" to allow a 100 ft setback from the edge of where the downslope starts instead of the 150 foot setback (on the top of the bluff) (YouTube recording). Other proposed amendments would expand exceptions to the village's tree-clearing limits, affecting what removal does not count toward the 30% clearing cap. The developer's proposals regarding the hillside ordinances were discussed and modified by the plan commission. The final recommendation from the Plan Commission are available on the CP Village Board website as part of a 103 page packet, but here are the pages relevant to the hillside development issues. These recommendations will be considered by the Village Board meeting on June 8th.
